English as a Second Language

ESL lessonWhile most campers are residents of the United States, campers of all cultures are welcome to attend Grier Summer. International campers may participate in one hour of English instruction daily, as one of their camp activities. Lessons involve practical applications of speaking and listening to English. Often, games and storytelling are used to encourage campers to participate.

 

In order to fully enjoy the offerings at Allegheny Riding Camp, campers should already have a good working knowledge of the English language, and be willing to communicate with other campers in English.

 

The Grier School also offers an intensive 7-week summer school program in English as a Second Language, for girls aged 12 to 17. Students attend English class for 4 hours per day and enjoy recreational activities and trip during the afternoons and weekends. For more information:
